James Woods joined M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc. in 2019 as Chief Operating Officer, bringing with him a strong background in operations and sales leadership. Since stepping into this role, he has led the company through a period of strategic expansion, driving significant revenue growth while maintaining a strong focus on operational excellence, product quality, and customer satisfaction. His leadership has been instrumental in scaling the business and strengthening M & M Coastal’ s position in the industry.
Prior to joining M & M Coastal, James held leadership positions in the oilfield services sector. As Field Sales Manager at Premium Oilfield Technologies, he was responsible for managing and growing domestic revenue, working closely with executive leadership to align sales strategies with business
goals. Earlier, he served as Regional Sales Manager at Weatherford International, where he gained valuable experience in operations, sales management, and customer engagement.
A graduate of Montgomery High School, James believes that success is earned through persistence, integrity, and hard work. His career is a testament to these values, and he continues to apply them in his leadership at M & M Coastal Manufacturing.
John Clark joined M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc. in 2019 as Quality Manager, bringing with him more than 30 years of diverse industry experience. Since joining the company, John has led initiatives to enhance quality standards, streamline production processes, and optimize task scheduling to ensure the timely and efficient delivery of customer requirements. In addition to John’s Quality Manager role, he manages M & M Coastal Field Services, LLC.
Interfacing with customers and vendors to provide services required to ensure a smooth transition from installing M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc’s PDCs into a fully functional facility at customer sites. John’s career began as an electrician’s helper, where his strong work ethic and leadership abilities quickly propelled him to the role of Project Superintendent. He went on to serve as a contractor at Powell Industries, eventually earning a full-time position in the engineering
department. At Powell, John played a key role in a variety of functions, from generating preliminary drawings for customer quotes to overseeing full-scale construction of industrial buildings. Prior to his civilian career, John proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as an Avionics Technician, working on the B-1 Bomber. A graduate of Pasadena High School, John believes that with determination and drive, anything is achievable. His career stands as a testament to that belief.
With over 17 years of hands-on experience in engineering, project management, and field operations, Rusty Reiland currently serves as a Production Manager and an active member of the Quality & Safety Committee. His career is built on a strong foundation of technical expertise and leadership across multiple areas, including structural design, fabrication, logistics, and field service. Rusty began his career with M&M Coastal Manufacturing in 2008 as a Structural Designer, gaining deep experience in designing PDCs, fabricating components, and supporting production through CNC programming and equipment maintenance. Over time, he expanded into project and field service management, taking on responsibility for end-to-end operations—from client communication and quoting to logistics, invoicing, and safety training.
In his roles as Field Service Manager and now Production Manager, Rusty has consistently bridged engineering, operations, and client service. He has led cross-functional teams, managed
complex logistics, and maintained high standards in quality and safety throughout our production facility.
Known for his ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and for his detail-oriented approach to both design and execution.
Michael A. Hopkins is a proud graduate of the Electrical Engineering program at Prairie View A&M University. A native of San Antonio, Texas, Michael brings over 15 years of diverse experience in the Oil & Gas and Manufacturing industries across the Houston area.
Since joining M & M Coastal Manufacturing in 2020, Michael has served as a key leader and innovator within the organization. As Engineering Manager, he leads the engineering design and development efforts and is a significant contributor to the company’s Quality System Management Committee, helping to uphold and advance organizational standards.
Throughout his career, Michael has progressed through a series of impactful technical and leadership roles that have strengthened his engineering expertise and collaborative leadership style. His ability to foster high-performing teams and drive technical excellence has made him an invaluable asset to every organization he’s served.
Michael is known for his poised, forward-thinking approach and a strong, productive work ethic. He fosters a culture of integrity, innovation, and teamwork—qualities that are deeply reflected in his passion for both his work and the colleagues he mentors and supports.
With over 35 years of experience in the electrical panel industry, Richard Baley currently serves as the General / Engineering Manager – Panels Group – M & M Coastal Mfg. In this role, he manages their UL-508A panel shop, leads engineering design and development. He has 36 years’ experience working in this industry.
Before joining M & M Coastal, Richard Baley spent 33 years at Panelmatic, where he held several key positions including General Manager for 10 years, Engineering Manager for 12 years, and Project Engineer for 11 years. His extensive background has equipped
him with deep expertise in UL-508A control panels, particularly in process control applications across the Oil & Gas, and Utility sectors.
Richard Baley holds a BS Mechanical Engineering – Texas A & M University. A proud Aggie, he is an active supporter of the university through the 12th Man Foundation and the Texas A&M Foundation and enjoys anything and everything to do with Texas A & M
University.
Chris Gillespie joined M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc in 2011 as sales manager. Upon entering M & M, he developed a multi-market strategy utilizing manufacturing representatives, electrical distribution integrators, major OEM’s and direct sales efforts.
Chris has been a key part in growing sales from 6 million to 70 million-plus annually. In addition, diversification in product supply and integration of vertical supply chain have enabled M & M to provide a product scope from general PDC supply to fully integrated projects, including engineering and field installation.
Before joining M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc, Chris Gillespie developed over 30 years of experience marketing equipment for Powell Electrical Manufacturing, Group Schneider, Eaton, Moller Electric. His experience covers Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Pulp & Paper, Utility, Data Storage, UPS, and mining applications. Chris is a graduate of Texas A&M University B.S. Industrial Distribution with minor in Power
Engineering.
Michael Birchard is the Director of the Project Management Group at M and M Coastal, bringing more than 15 years of experience in the E-House industry. He began his career in sales, where he built strong customer relationships and developed extensive expertise in delivering solutions for complex projects. Previously before joining M and M Coastal, he was responsible for running the estimation team at another E-House manufacturer.
In 2024, Michael transitioned into project management leadership when he joined the M and M Coastal team, combining his industry knowledge with a client-focused approach to drive successful project execution. His background in sales provides a unique perspective that helps align customer expectations with operational delivery, ensuring projects are completed efficiently and to the highest standards.
As Director of the Project Management Group, Michael leads project teams and fosters a culture of collaboration and accountability. He is committed to delivering exceptional results for clients while contributing to the continued growth and success of M and M Coastal through strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a focus on operational excellence.
Karen Weldon has been a valued member of M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc. since 2008,
bringing a strong foundation of administrative expertise and operational knowledge to the
organization. Starting as an administrative support professional, she quickly proved herself by taking on a range of responsibilities in Accounts Receivable, Payroll, and Human
Resources. Her consistent performance and leadership led to her promotion to Office Manager, a role in which she now oversees daily office operations and supports company wide efficiency and continuity.
Karen holds a Professional Certification from the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), earned in 2018, and is an active member of both SHRM and HR Houston. Her professionalism, integrity, and commitment have been instrumental to the continued growth and success of M & M Coastal Manufacturing, Inc.
A proud graduate of South Houston High School, Karen attended Sam Houston State University, where she studied music. In addition to her corporate accomplishments, she is
an accomplished harpist and has performed professionally for over 30 years
